Hisi Requested Cocpletion Date: March 15,1977 Description of Response: SER Supplement Review Status: Applicant Response Required The haterials Engineering Branch has completed the review of all available infomation concerning the Davis-Besse Unit No. I reactor vessel material surveillance (RVMS) program. Our SER Supplement revising Section 5.3, "Raactor Vessel Integrity " to ucdata our evaluation of the RYMS program is attached. The revised input is enclosed in brackets.
Our conclusions are sunsaarized as follows:
1.
The Davis-Besse Unit No. 1 reactor vessel material surveillance program with the new surveillance specimen holder tube location is acceptable through the first fuel cycle when the first capsule is scheduled to be withdrawn and evaluated.

We will require additional information to justify the higher lead factor and the proposed withdrawal schedule which is different from Appendix H Section II.C.3.c.
