Faulkner Requested Completion Date: January 3, 1973 Description of Responses None Required Review Status: Complete As requested by your memorandum dated Deceaber 15, 1972, the Containment Systens Branch has reviewed the applicable parts of Sections 3.0 and 6.0 submitted in support of the operating license application for Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station.
The applicant has not analy::ed the containnent accident pressure respons3 for a sper.trum of break sizes of cold leg breaks.
Containnent pressure response analysis for steam line rupture has not been discussed. The applicant has not supplied the infornation as required in Standard Format Tabla 6-1 (Information to be Provided For All Types of containment), and Table 6-3 (Information to be Provided For Dual Containments). We have no other coements as a result of our preliminary review.
Based on our review, we conclude that Sections 3.0 and 6.0 are approximately 901 complete, and are acceptable for the initiation of a detailed technical review.
One (1) man-day of effort was expended on this prelininary review.
