Dear Mr. Price:
The Toledo Edison Company and The Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company have today filed an appication to construct and operate a utili-zation facility of the type described in section 50.21(b) of AEC regula-tions. Three signed originals and 32 conformed copies of the applicaticn, along with 80 copies of the PSAR, are being transmitted to AEC under sep-arate cover.
The application is for a single 2633 Mwt PWR steam supply system to be supplied oy the Babcock & Wilcox Company as part of the proposed Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station. The plant is to be located on the shores of Lake Erie at a site some 21 miles east of Toledo, Ohio.
Un-divided ownership of the plant will be shared by The Toledo Edison Com-pany and The Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company, with Toledo Edison having complete responsibility for the design, installation and operation of the facility.
I am enclosing a check for $2,500 as the application fee for the construction permit. A copy of the application is being served on the Board of County Commissioners of Ottawa County, Ohio and proof of such service will be submitted directly.
