Dear Mr. Rusche:
Under separate cover, we are transmitting Amendment No. 39 to cte Appli-cation for Licenses for the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station Unit No. 1.
This Amendment consists of Revision No. 23 to the Final Safety Analysis Report (FSAR). Three (3) original and twenty-five (25) conformed copies of the transmittal sheet are included together with sixty (60) copies of Revision 23 to the FSAR.
This revision includes the changes to the FSAR concerning the ECCS design modifications, the gaseous radwaste oxygen monitoring system modification and the reactor cavity and steam generator subcompartment analysis as re-lated to the NRC in letters with Serial Numbers 148, 149 and 151 all dated November 15, 1976 from the Applicant to Mr. John F. Stolz. As indicated in the FSAR revision and the above letters, the ECCS modifications are scheduled to be installed by the end of the first refueling, presently scheduled for the spring of 1979, and the redundant oxygen monitor is scheduled to be installed by the end of June 1977.
Also included as part of this Amendment is the submittal of three (3) copies of new and revised detailed EISC drawings.
