SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR PLANT (SQN) UNITS 1 AND 2 - NRC INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-327, 328/88 REVISED CORRECTIVE ACTION FOR NOTICE OF VIOLATION (NOV) 50-327, 328/88-60-01

Reference:

TVA's response to NRC dated April 10, 1989, "Sequoyah Nuclear Plant (SQN) Units 1 and 2 - NRC Inspection Report Nos. 50-327, 328/88 Response to Notice of Violation (NOV) 50-327, 328/88-60-01"

'One of the corrective actions committed to by TVA in the referenced NOV response was to revise Division Procedure Manual (DPM) N76A4, Appendix F,

" Chemical Additives," to reflect an updated boron-10 acceptance criteria for future procurement of boric acid and sodlum tetraborate. The DPM is a corporate-level procedure that is related to Sequoyah Standard Practice SQA159, " Standards and Guides for Quality Assurance Level III Items." SQA159 has been revised to reflect the updated acceptable boron-10 range (19,75 to L

20.3 atom-percent) as committed to in.the referenced NOV response.

In addition, the indefinite quality-term contracts have been revised to reflect the updated boron-10 1imits as also committed to in the reforenced NOV response.

During the process of revising the DPM, however, it was determined that the function once served by Appendix F is now served by SQA159, which has been endorsed by the corporate chemistry staff.

Therefore, the DPM appendix is redundant at SQN and no longer needed.

Consequently, Appendix F has been cancelled for SQN use, rather than being revised as previously committed.

If you have any questions concerning this submittal, please telephone M. A. Cooper at (615) 843-6651.

Very truly yours, TENNESSEE VALLEY AUTHORITY h
