Docket No. 50-133 License No. DPR-7 i

Dear Mr. Engelken:

This is in response to your letter dated March 13, 1

1980 which transmitted IE Bulletin No. 80-06 concerning engi-neered safety feature reset controls.

The Bulletin requested each plant to review all systems serving safety-related func-tions to verify that components with engineered safeguards features will remair in the safeguards actuation mode follow-

)

ing reset of the a cuation signal.

i This also is in response to your letter dated April 4, 1980 which transmitted IE Bulletin No.79-03A concerning possible weld defects in type 304 stainless steel pipe.

The Bulletin re-quested each plant to review and evaluate each use of SA-312 or A-312, Type 300 Series fusion welded pipe subject to design stresses greater than 85% of the code allowable stresses which are used in safety-related systems.

The plant is presently in the cold shutdown mode and will remain there until completion of the ongoing geologic in-vestigation.

The review, applicable testing, and resolution of any problems will be performed following completion of the geo-logic investigation and a report of our findings will be forwarded prior to returning to power operation.

Ve y truly your.
