Dear Mr. Siegfried:
This is in reference to your license application XCOM0321 for the export of 6 hydraulic shock struts (snubbers) to South Africa for use in the Koeberg Nuclear Power Station.
Effective June 25, 1980, the U.S. Department of Commerce assumed export licensing authority over such items.
Attached is a note explaining this change in greater detail.
A copy of your export license application file has been forwarded to the Comn'erce Department; however, Connerce regulations require that you also complete a Commerce export license application form and Commerce ITA-629 form " Statement by Ultimate Consignee and Purchaser".
To facilitate this process, we are enclosing these forms for you to complete and return to the Commerce Department.
Be certain to include on the documents Commerce Control Commodity Number 4363B(d).
