Gentlemen:
Haddam Neck Plant Hillstone Nuclear Power Station, Unit Nos.1 and 2 I&E Bulletin No.79-03A In Reference (1), the NRC Staff requested that Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Company (CYAPCO) and Northeast Nuclear Energy Company (NNECO) determine whether SA-312 or A-312, Type 300 Series fusion welded pipe is in use or planned for use in safety-related systems subject to design stresses greater than 85% of the Code Allowable stresses.
In response to Item 1 of Reference (1), CYAPCO and NNECO provide the following information for the Haddam Neck Plant and Millstone Unit Nos.1 and 2.
Haddam Neck Plant CYAPCO has reviewed the safety-related piping systems at the Haddam Neck Plant and has determined that there is no SA-312 or A-312 welded pipe in use at greater than 85% of the Code Allowable stress.

. Millstone Unit No. 1 NNECO has reviewed the piping systems at Millstone Unit No. 1 and has determined that there is no welded SA-312 or A-312 pipe in use at Millstone Unit No. 1.
Millstone Unit No. 2 NNECO has reviewed the safety-related piping systems at Millstone Unit No. 2 and has determined that there is no SA-312 or A-312 welded pipe in use at l
greater than 85% of the Code Allowable stress.
As there is no SA-312 or A-312 welded pipe subject to design stresses greater
- than 85% of the Code Allowable stresses at the Haddam Neck Plant, Millstone Unit No.1, or Millstone Unit No. 2, Item 2 of Reference (1) is not applicable.
