Gentlemen:
Millstone Nuclear Power Station, Unit No.1 I&E Bulletin No. 80-17 In Reference (1), the NRC Staff requested that Northeast Nuclear Energy Company (NNECO) perform surveillance tests at Millstone Unit No.1 to verify that there is no significant amount of water in the Scram Discharge Volume (SDV) and associated piping and that the SDV vent valves are operable end vent system is free of obstruction.
In response to Item 1 of Reference (1), NNECO has satisfactorily completed surveillance testing at Millstone Unit No. 1 and has verified that there is no significant amount of water in the Scram Discharge Volume (SDV) and associated piping and that the SDV vent valves are operable and vent system is free of obstruction. Additionally, this surveillance test is being performed on a daily basis to meet the requirements of Item 5 of Reference (1).
