SUBJECT:
MEETING WITH THE GENERAL ELECTRIC COMPANY REGARDING JANUARY 23, 1980 REQUEST FOR LICENSE AMENDMENT.
On June 10, 1980 the subject meeting was held at Silver Spring, Maryland.
A~ list of meeting participants is attached.
The General Electric Com-pany representatives requested the meeting to discuss their perspective of the second part, (b), of the subject request.
Part (a) of the request was not discussed.
The General Electric Company wishes to perform certain tests to develop or confirm information related to the storage of spent fuel,only.
They believe that much of this information can be obtained without signifi-cantly changing radiological or environmental safety at the Morris Operation.
Eat. change, test, or experiment would be carefully review-j ed by the plant safety committee to determine whether or not the change, test or experiment was an unreviewed safety question or could signifi-cantly affect the environment.
Information on the tests would be re-corded and an annual report submitted to the Nuclear Regulatory Commis-sion such as is presently done for changes, tests, and experiments under 10CFR Section 50 59 for nuclear power reactors.
The GE representatives also indicated that they had submitted a description of a proposed expansion of the basin pump room for our information.
