J. G. Keppler letter to C. Reed dated May 6, 1980

Dear Mr. Keppler:

In response to IE Bulletin 60-10 transmitted by Reference (a), Dresden, Quad Cities and Zion Stations have reviewed the design and operation of their facilities and have identified all systems considered nonradioactive which have the potential of becoming contaminated through interfaces with radioactive systems.

Routine sampling, analysis, or monitoring programs for these were already in place, or have been added in order to promptly identify any contaminating events which could lead to unmonitored or uncontrolled releases to the environment.

Zion Station currently has no nonradioactive systems which are contaminated, therefore no 10 CFR 50.59 safety evaluations or other actions required by items 3 and 4 of the bulletin are necessary.

Dresden Station has identified 4 systems requiring restricted use or 10 CFR 50.59 safety evaluationc.

The actions required by items 3 and 4 of the bulletin have also been completed for these systems.

For all stations, should any system identified as nonradioactive become contaminated in the future, further use of this systems will be restricted, or a safety evaluation will be performed _ addressing the bulletin requirements.

If you should have any further questions in this regard, please direct them to this office.
