Docket Number 50-320 i

1 Sutqec_t.: aggt70R BUILDING FURGE STATUS Furging of the reactor building atmosphere utilizing the modified hydrogen control (MliC) system continued at various system flow rates based on meteorological condition. Mcmentary shutdowns also occurred due to stack monitor filter changeouts.

Also a scheduled shutdown lasting approximately 5 hours5.787037e-5 days
0.00139 hours
8.267196e-6 weeks
1.9025e-6 months
occurred for computer maintenance.

Maximum purge system flow rate was approximately 540 cfm while stack flow rate averaged apo rc=it.ately 100,000 cfm in the past 24 hours2.777778e-4 days
0.00667 hours
3.968254e-5 weeks
9.132e-6 months
.

Total calculated radioactivity released as of 7:00 a.m. was 9676 Ci based on stack flow rate and measured stack concentration.

Remaining concentration in the reactor buildin9 based on the last building sample was analy ed at.89 uCi/cc (50,409 Ci, total).

NRC evaluation of the additional particulate monitor on the plant stack is in progress.

Crab namoles continue to verify little or no particulate activity released and are ir. dependently verified by the NRC Region I mobile laboratory.

Additional recorts on reactor building purt;ing will be updated on a daily basis during the initial stages of purging. 'ihe NRC Region I mobile laboratory will continue to be used to verify tne licensee's analytical results.

Media interest has occurred because of public sensitivity to this evolution and TMI related events. The Comenwealth of Pennsylvania has monitored these events.

NRC has responded to incuirics. The NRC TMI Program Office staff has monitored events as they occur on a 24 hour2.777778e-4 days
0.00667 hours
3.968254e-5 weeks
9.132e-6 months
basis.
