Description of Event

On May 31, 1980, during scheduled recalibration of Steam Generator IA channel III narrow range level transmitter, instrumentatio; nersonnel determined that the transmitter had drifted 3% high. This would have delayed the channel III input to low steam 8cnerator level protection J

logica; therefore, this event is reportable pursuant to T.S. 6.9.1.9.a.

Probable Consequences of Occurrence Steam Generator IA narrow range level channels I and II were oper-able and in calibration.

Channel III Steam Generator IA narrow range level transmitter was recalibrated immediately.

Since the minimum number of Steam Generator IA narrow range channels required by the Technical Specifications were operable and in calibration and the chan-nel III narrow range level transmitter was recalibrated immediately, the public health and safety were not affected.

Cause of Event

The cause of the instrument drift was not determined.

Immediate Corrective Action

Channel III Steam Generator IA narrow range level transmitter was recalibrated Lamediately.

Scheduled Corrective Action

)

No scheduled corrective actions are required.

Actions Taken to Prevent Recurrence No actions to prevent recurrance are required.
