l This is in response to your letter dated May 27, 1980, in which you l
requested, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, the following records:

Summary of all medical radiation exposure (and/or absorbed radiation dose) data for occupationally exposed radiation workers that led the Nuclear l
Regulatory Commission to adopt "as low as reasonably achievable" as 0.1 the maximum permissable dose.

With regard to item 2 of your request, this is to advise you that to the best of our knowledge there is no NRC or Advisory Committee sun nary position paper as described.
With regard to items 1 and 3, those records which have been id:ntified as responsive to your request are listed on the enclosed Appendix and are enclosed with this letter.
With regard to the enclosed records, we wish to direct your attention to the following information:

The letter dated September 28, 1979, from William J. Dircks to licensees is void. A letter which will supersede this letter is currently in preparation.
2.
NUREG-0419, " Occupational Radiation Exposure at NRC-Licensed Facilities,1975" is the most recent published report.
- However, figures which were recently compiled for a yet unpublished report have been provided on a separate sheet, dated June 9, 1980, to update the information found on page 23 of the 1975 report.
We wish to take this opportunity to thank you for your cooperation in l
agreeing to an extension of time for our response to your request.
