{{#Wiki_filter:._ gf 'o UNITED STATES g g ( p NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION Yy W ASHING TON, D. C. 20SS$ \\,...../ jyg 1 1 1980 MEMORANDUM FOR: Frank J. Witt, CMEB, DE FROM: Richard H. Vollmer, Director, DE
SUBJECT:
EXEMPTION T010 CFR 0.735-21 I have reviewed your Confidential Statement of Employment and Financ'ai Interests (Form NRC-269) and note that you report, as a former employee of General Electric Company, a vested interest in their pension plan. In order to allow you to work on iicensing matters involving the General Electric Company, an exemption from the provisions of 10 CFR 9.735-21 must be granted. A review of the terms of the General Electric Company pension fund by the Office of the General Counsel has revealed that as an NRC employee you cannot influence, in any fashion, the amount you recaive as a pension from General Electric Company. Based upon this finding, I have determined that your interest in the General Electric Company pension fund is not so sub-stantial as to be deemed likely to affect the integrity of your services to NRC and that no provision of law and no NRC regulation would appear to be violated by your participation in matters affecting the General Electric Company. Therefore, with the concurrence of the Office of the General Counsel, you are hereby granted an exemption from the requirements of 10 CFR 0.735-21 and you may participate in matters before the NRC affecting the General Electric Company. j fyg'ffh/ Richard H.
