Dear Dr. Morris:

Enclosed are three (3) signed originals and eighty-seven (87) conformed copies of Amendment No. 6 to Consumers Power Company's application for a construction permit and operating license for Units 1 and 2 of the proposed Midland Plant. This anend=ent revises and supplenents the PSAR and portions of the information submitted by Amendment No. 5 For the most part, we are submitting this information pursuant to discussions held with members of your staff on December 5, 1969 At that time, we were advised that all written application material regarding resolved issues should be available to AEC by the first week of January,1979. The purpose of this timing is to assure that the material vill be available to the ACRS in sufficient time for the Midland Plant application to be considered at the February ACRS meeting.

Copies of Amendment No. 6 have also been sent to Mr. Jerome Maslowski, Assistant Attorney General for the State of Michigan; Mr.

Frank Olds, Chai:=an of the County Board of Supervisors of Midland County, Michigan; Mr. Robert B. Chatterton, Supervisor of Midland Town-ship, Midland County, Michigan; and Mr. Julius Blasy, Mayor of the City of Midland. Certificates of service on Mr. Olds and Mr. Chatterton are also enclosed.
