MIDLMD PROJECT DOCKER NOS 50-329, 50-330 FILE: 0505.1 SERIAL: 3871 During a May 27, 1977 telephone conversation between "r R Povell of the URC and Mr J J Zabritski of Consumers Power Co, we were asked to clarify certain information in PSAR Amendment No 32 which was submitted on April h,1977 The following information is provided in response to those questions.

1. The penetration areas described in Section 2 5 do not contain any separa-tion group E cables nor are there any separation group E circuits pene-trating the containment. Therefore, group E circuits do not enter either of the two penetration areas.
2. The methods described in Section 2.6.2 for separation between redunds.nt Class lE equipment and circuits are implemented without exception. Analysis is performed to demonstrate the adequacy of lesser than 6-inch separation without installation of a barrier only for Class lE to non-Class lE and Class lE associated to non-Class lE circuits.

3 The a=neter trcnsducer shown in Figure 8A-1 is a Class lE device and is located within the Class lE boundary.

We trust the above responses satisfactorily resolve your questions and therefore, request formal confirmation that the criteria contained in Amendnent No 32 is acceptable for the installation of Class 1E balance of plant cable.
