Dear Walt:

This is in response to your letter to Mr. Bogers, dated December 3,1971 and confirms our discussion during your visit of December-28, 1971.

Your proposed outline for preparing separate environmental statements for Units 1 and 2 is acceptable. The environmental statement for Unit 2 (Construction Permit Applicatica) should be limited to the analysis of the environmental impact for construction and operation of thit 2.

The environmental statement for Unit 1 (Provisional Operating License) should discuss the impact of operation of both Units.

Source terms for use in calculations of radiological effects of Unit 2 will be provided to OREl by DREP under a separate meno.

All contacts with the applicant for site visits, question on design or operating evced.w.s, etc. should be soordinated with the DREP Project Leader (D. Glena Doyer-IT261). _..
