Dear Mr. Calloway:

l On March 25, 1975 Dr. Hiller Spanger and I visited your office during a site visit to the Arkansas Nuclear One Plant. We were collecting i

information on the effects of the nuclear plant on the Russellville j

area. An important part of this study is the impact the plant has on i

tourism and recreational use of the Dardanelle Lake.

The enclosed j

tables were included in the Environmental Report which was submitted to the NRC on March 1,1974 by Arkansas Pwer and Light.

It would be very helpful to our study if you could supply us with data for the period 1970-1975. Any further information on the level of recreational use of the reservoir that you could furnish would be greatly appreciated.

I Such information might include the number of marinas and their size, i.e., number of slips, the number or poundage of fish taken from the reservoir by sport fishermen, the location and number of boat ramps or access areas.

It is also rgy understanding that a largennuth bass fishing tournament is held in Russellville. Could you either provide me with attendance figures for the past few years or direct me to the proper source of this infomation.

I assume the national tournament held in Russellville in 1975 was in conjunction with an annual local tournament.

Your cooperation in providing the NRC with any information which can help us determine the occurrence or extent of a nuclear plant's impact on local tourism and recreation will be greatly appreciated.

I would also be interested in your personal observations or impressions of attitudes toward the nuclear plant.
