LICENSLE: Arkansas Power G Light Company FACIL11Y: Arkansas Nuclear Cnc - Unit 1 SUSMRY OF IIEETING WITH ARLGSAS PCWER G LIGIT CONN;Y REGARDING APPENDIX I REQUIRM EiTS On March 17, 1976, representatives of the Arkansas Power 6 Light Company (APGL) met with the NRC staff to discuss the methods and analyses to be used by APGL to evaluate the ANO facility- (Units 1 and 2) with respect to the requirements of 10 CFR 50. Appendix I.
A list of the meeting attendees is attached.
AP.it requested the meeting in response to our Febrtwry 19, 1976 letter to the utility. Significant points discussed and questions raised are sumr.arized below:
1.
APSL is working primarily on the gaseous effluent pathway at this time.
R. Cook of their staff presented a sureary of APGL's March 3,1976 Ictter to the staff. A question and answer period r.
ensued.
2.
APGL believes they can meet the Appendix I requirements. They have the required codes and are presently collecting the necessary input information described in their March 3 letter.
3.
APGL oolieves they will be able to supply the information required by the staff by June 4,1976. We will require a statement to that effect (which was ositted from their March 3,1976 letter) or a description of the information-that.will be supplied by June 4,1976.
> 4.
Le NRC staff had no basic problems with the methodology. described
,i by APSL.
The meteorological code to be used conforms to Regulatory l
Guide 1.23, and is not a direct application of the new Regulatory
,I Guide 1.DD.
W e NRC staff will comment later on the acceptability i
I of this proposal. AP5L stated that they believe their code provides a conservative approach compared to Regulatory Guide 1.DD.
