Our review of recent submit t als regarding the reevaluat ion of emergency s
core cooling system (F.CCS) performance in accordance with 10 CFR 50.46 indicates that certain additional information was recuired in order for us to complete our evaluation.
This letter is to inform you of one part of the evaluations that have been subeitted that has recuired additional

i In performine the evaluation of sinr.le failures of ECCS ecuipment required by Appendix F to 10 CFR 50, Section I.D.l.,
the effects of a sinale f ailure or operator error that causes any manually-controlled, electrically-operated valve to move to a position that could adversely af fect the LCCS must be considered. Therefore,. please reviev your subesittals regarding ECC5; snd if this consideration has not been specifically repo rt ed in the past, your upcoming subrtit tal must add re s s this consideration.
Include any proposed plant modifications and changes to the Technical Specifications that might be reanired to protect assinst any loss of safety function caused by this type of f ailure.
