Dear tir. Boyd:
In our July 9,1975 transmittal to h!r. A. Giambusso concerning the above subject we stated that we were investigating possible alternatives for alleviating the possibility of valve failure as a result of postulated operator submergence during a LOCA. We have completed our investigations and evaluations and hereby notify you of our planned action.
This course of action involves replacing the motor operators on the affected valves
' /-1050 and CV-1410) with LOCA qualified, submersible operators.
Thes e operators have been ordered and will be installed during our first refuel-ing shutdown.
