DPR - 51 Fire Protection (File:
1510 2040 2-1510 2-2040)
Gentlemen:
The following is provided to document the telecon of July 7, 1978, between Mr. Bob Reed et al. of NRC and Mr. Don Rueter et al. of AP&L.
As agreed in the telecon, we will implement a five (5) man Fire Brigade.
The Brigade will consist of three (3) personnel who have received the full training as outlined in the Fire Protection Plan and whose primary responsibility is fire fighting and two (2) personnel (Support Personnel) whose primary responsibility is a support role to the three (3) fire fighting personnel.
The Support Personnel will be trained the same as the three (3) fire fighting personnel (in accordance with the Fire Protection Plan) with the following exceptions:
1.
Installed Plant Fire Protection Systems.
The training for the Support Personnel will not include strategy as it applies to the actuation of installed automatic systems.
The Support Personnel will actuate an installed automatic system only under direct order from a fully trained Fire Brigade Member who will make the decision for the necessity of the actuation of that l
system based on his training in the strategy of fight-ing fires.
