Arkansas Power & Light Company Arkansas Nuclear One - Units 1 & 2 Docket Nos: 50-113 & 50-368 Quality Assurance Personnel Authority and Organizational Freedom
Dear Mr. Giambusso:
We have received a letter from Voss A. Moore, Assistant Director for Light Water Reactors Group 2 Directorate of Licensing, dated January 22, 1974, requesting information on quality assurance personnel Tuthority and organi-zational freedom. We have reviewed our quality programs for Arkansas Nuclear One Units 1 & 2 and report the following:
ANO UNIT 1 - DOCKET NO. 50-313 Amendment No. 43 to the FSAR, which will be issued on February 22, 1974, will update this document to contain adequate infocmation in Section 1.6 to respond to the request. Since construction activities are essentially complete, the NSS quality program will not be updated in the FSAR to re-flect recent program developments.
ANO UNIT 2 - DOCKET NO. 50-368 The FSAR for Unit 2 will be issued on March 1,1974.
Chapter 17 of the FSAR which provides the requested information was completed and printed prior to the date of the subject letter. Although the program, as printed in Chapter 17, is essentially unchanged, one organizational change in the AP&L program is not included. This change involves the newly created position of Manager of Quality Assurance.
The first amendment to the FSAR will include this change.
In the interim, reference may be made to the Unit 1 FSAR as amended on February 22, 1974.
