In general, splices in power, control and instrumention wire are to be avoided. Boxes are provided for splices required in the 480-volt power -} receptacle circuit. Whe splices are unavoidable, then a solderless pressure ty e insulated two-way butt splice or bolted connector shall be used. Solices are not cer-mitted in conduit or tray.* Permanent' motor connections shall be made with ring tongue compressor type connector with all bronze or silicon-bronze alloy bolts and nuts, bolted and taped with ample slack left at the terminals to prevent any undue stress on wiring. 5. Power receptacles shall be angle type with raintight n ,9 spring door housing, 4 wire, 4 pole, grounded through t shell and extra pole, rated 60 amp., 600 volts, ac in 1 rust proofed ferrous alloy cast box to take 1-1/2 inch i conduit.
