As requested in your letter of May 28, 1976, we have reviewed our Technical Specifications relating to the present limiting conditions for operation (LCO's) and surveillance requirements (SR's) of the

Auxiliary Electrical System to assure the facility diesel generators will operate when needed. Enclosed for your review are several proposed changes to the Arkansas Nuclear One-Unit 1 Technical Specifications which are related to the above discussion. A discussion of each change and/or addition is as follows:

Specification 3.7.1.C This change incorporates the recommendation of your letter to include a minimum fuel level for both the day tank and the emergency storage tank. Operability requirements for the fuel transfer pump and starting air compressor were added to the Specification. A bases for this LCO has also been added.

Specification 3.7.3

'lhis change incorporates the recommendation of your letter to eliminate the reference to " abnormal occurrence" because it is incongruous with the present Specification 6.12, " Reporting Requirements".
