Arkansas fNelear One, Unit 1 Docket No. 50-313 APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Based on the results of the NRC inspection conducted February 28-March 3 and March 27-31, 1978, it appears that certain of your activities were not conducted in full compliance with your Reactor License or NRC require-ments as indicated below:

10 CFR Part 20, Section 203(b), states in part, "(b) Radiation Areas.
Each radiation area shall be conspicuously posted with a sign or signs bearing the radiation caution symbol...."
Contrary to the above, the door into the lower Electrical Penetration Room was not conspicuously posted.
A 100 millicurie Csl37.irradiator was in use at the time the posting inadequacy was identified by the inspector, resulting in radiation exposure levels sufficient to require establishment of a Radiation Area.
This is an infraction.

The ANO Unit 1 Facility Technical Specifications, Section 6.8.1, states in part that, " Written procedures shall be... implemented Plant Procedure 1104.03, Chemical Addition, Revision 5 (January 6,1978), Section 4.2, states in part that, "The boric acid agdition tank shall contain at least the equivalent of 756 ft (64") at 8,700 ppm boric acid solution per Attachment G Contrary to the above, the Boric Acid Addition Tank level was allowed, on February 3,1978 (4:00' p.m. to 12:00 p.m. watch), to exceed the limits of Plant Procedure 1104.03, Attachment G, by approximately eight inches.
This is an infraction.
