Description of Occurrence:
i During routine fish impingment monitorin'g 2/8/75, using procedure 1607.10, Monitoring Fish Impinged on ANO-1 Intake Screens, 4050 pounds of fish were collected during a 24-hour sample period.beginning at 8:00 a.m.
2/7/75 and ending at 8:00 a.m. 2/8/75. A mixture of gizzard and thread-
. fin shad made up 99.8% of the ' total weight of fish. Other fish made up 0.2% of the total weight. Threadfin shad made up 92% of ~the total number of shad. Temperatures taken at 8:00 a.m. 2/8/75:
intake temperature -
44.7"F and ambient air temperature - 24*F.

X The apparent cause was due to a natural die off of threadfin shad during the winter season.

The only noticeable Environmenta.1 Impact was the removal of the above mentioned fish from the lake. The fish that were collected were dis-posed of through land fill operation. The fish that were not collected were disposed of'through the trash disposal system.

- 10. Correc.ve Action:
Long term studies are in progress to determine the effects of plant opbration on the aquatic ecosystems of the Dardanelle Reservoir.
Data from this report and other data obtained is fed back into these studies to determine what changes might be made to the studies in order to ensure.that adequate data is obtained for evaluating plant, impact.
Review by Arkansas Power G Light Company and its consultants of the results of these studies will determine what corrective action might be taken to reduce plant effects on the Reservoir.
