Description of Occurrence:

.During quarterly calibration and inspection of the seismic instrumentation the 0.01 g and 0.1 g alarms were determined to be inoperable. An investiga-tion revealed the power had been turned off at the annunciator panel.

Analysis of Occurrence:

It does not appear the alarm was inoperable prior to 1-13-76 and that an actual event of such magnitude that would have caused stresses to exceed design linits would have been felt at the plant site even though the alarns were inoperable, thus no hazard to the health and safety of the public.
