.Tnis is a resolution memorializing the opposition of the Council of the City of Euclid to the construction of the so-called Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station.
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Euclid does memorialize the fact that the citizens of the City are awakening to the threat of an environmental crisis, and WHEREAS, the Council recognizes that there is a serious question with reference to a potential hazard posed by the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station, and WHEREAS, there have been claims that the plant cannot be built at its
. - present Lake Erie site without undue risk to the health and safety of the public, which risks would include biological damage, chromosome breakage, genetic mutation, growth inhibition, cancer and leukemia, cellular and organic death, and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council that the City of Euclid join with the Coalition of Safe Nuclear Pcwer in opposing the construction of the Davis-Besse Pcwer Station until such time as it is proven without any qualification that there will be no danger posed to the citizens of Euclid in their total environment.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Council of the City of Euclid,

Section 1:
That this Council does make a matter of record its opposition to construction of the Davis-Besse Nuclear Pcwer Station at the proposed Lake Erie site, Section 2:
That the opposition be made a matter of record and continued until it is proven without qualification that there is no danger posed to the citizens of Euclid in their total environment.
Section 3:_ That a copy of this resolution be mailed forthwith to the United States Atomic Energy Commission, to 22nd Congressional District Congress-inan Charles A. Vanik, to United States Senator Robert A. Taft, to United States
