Docket No. 50-346 HEARING ON APPLICATION FOR A CONSTRUCTION PERMIT
Dear Sir:
Permission is hereby requested for a staff member of this Department, 1
Mr. James C. Wynd, to make a limited appearance as my representative at the above-captioned hearing scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on December 8, 1970, in Port Clinton, Ohio.
Mr. Wynd is Engineer-in-Charge of the Radiological Health Unit, Division of Engineering, Bureau of Environmental Health. He is a Professional Engineer, registered with the State of Ohio; has been a member of the professional staff of this Department since 1950, and has been professionally involved in activities involving nuclear energy and radiation protection since 1945. As a member of the staff of the Bureau of Environmental Health, Mr. Wynd works closely with, and has access to, the professional and technical expertise and accistance of. the Bureau's water pollution, air pollution and solid wastes control - rograms.
Mr. Wynd's appearance at the hearing vill be for the purpose of presenting a brief statement describing the responsibilities, the capabilities l
and the role of the Department of Ralth in protecting the public health and safety and the environment in those areas of the state potentially affected by the operation of the proposed nuclear facility. The statement will, in general, support the application for a construction permit.
