Dear Mr. Hjelmfelt:
During the testimony of Warren D. Hinchee on January 5 and 6, 1976, Mr. Hinchee made reference on pages 2612-13, 2615-16, 2807, and 2811 of the transcript to a written request by Mr. Gaskill, formerly Director of Utilities, City of Cleve-land, to The Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company for par-ticipation in the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station, Unit 1.
After reviewing the documents provided to Applicants during dis-covecy by the City of Cleveland and rechecking the documents produced by CEI on discovery, Applicants have been unable to locat e the Gaskill communication.
Applicants doubt seriously that,any such request was ever made by Mr. Gask!.ll.
This letter is to ask that you have j
the City examine its files to ascertain if there is in fact any written. communication which m'ight support Mr. Hinchee's recol-8002 260 h
