r This Special Report is being submitted pursuant to the requirements of i
Technical Specification 3.7.9, " Fire Suppression System," in that the Diesel t
Fire Pump remained inoperable in excess of seven days.
t L0n September 27, 1989, the Diesel Fire Pump was removed from service for surveillance testing. The initial flow rate was less than the 2500 gpm as required by the surveillance. Adjustments were made to the discharge relief e
valve and a satisfactory flow rate was obtained on October 4.
During this j
test run, an engine cooling problem developed and investigation itantified a defective cooling water pump. Replacement of the cooling water pu.np and satisfactory post maintenance testing was completed with the unit.being declared operable at 0615 hours0.00712 days <br />0.171 hours <br />0.00102 weeks <br />2.340075e-4 months <br /> on October 5, 1989.
The. Licensee plans no corrective action as a result of this event.
