RE0RGANIZATION OF THE DIVISION OF RADIATION SAFETY AND SAFEGUARDS l

This letter is to infom you of a recent reorganization within the Division of

[

Radiation Safety and Safeguards. The Material Control and Accountability Section l

within the Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards Branch has been combined with the Physical Security Section.

The new section will be called the Safeguards l

Section so as to reflect the expanded program functions and mission. The Nuclear i

Material Safety Section and Radiation Safety Projects Section remain unchanged by this action.

An organizaticnal chart depicting the new organization is provided t

in the Enclosure.

further, as you will note by the Enclosure, T. R. Decker has been assigned as the Section Chief of the Radiological Effluents and Chemistry Section in the l

Emer ency Preparedness and Radiological Protection Branch.

His replacement as Sect on Chief of the Radiation Safety Projects Section is E. J. McAlpine.

i Kr. McAlpine was the Section Chief of the former Material Control and Accountability Section. The effective date of these actions was August 8, 1989.
