VIRGINIA ELECTRIC AND POWER COMPANY NORTH ANNA POWER STATION UNITS 1 and 2 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION CHANGE REQUEST FLOOD PROTECTION T.S. 3/4 7.8 Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.90, Virginia Electric and Power Company requests an amendment in the form of changes to the Technical Specifications of the Operating Licenses No.

NPF 4 and NPF 7 for North Anna Power Station Units 1 and 2.

Virginia Electric and Power Company is adding a flood control dyke around the wcst end of the North Anna Power Station Unit 2 Turbine and Service Buildings to provide protection of safety related equipment and facilities. This was necessitated by a reanalysis of potential flooding conditions. In order to accommodate drainage of normal accumulation from within the dyke enclosed area, a drain pipe is provided through the dyke. During potential flooding conditions, this drain pipe must be isolated to prohibit j reverse flow of water into the enclosure and then into the Turbine and Service Buildings.

The proposed changes to the Units 1 and 2 Technical Specifications modify Action Statement 3 7,6 to require isolating the dyke drain pipe valve if the water level at the main reservoir spillway is above 252 feet Metn Sea Level. The Surveillance Requiremont 4 7.6 is changed to reduce the normal surveillance interval for measuring the reservoir level, from 24 to 8 hours9.259259e-5 days <br />0.00222 hours <br />1.322751e-5 weeks <br />3.044e-6 months <br />, and the reservoir level at which the level surveillance frequency is escalated from once per 8 hours9.259259e-5 days <br />0.00222 hours <br />1.322751e-5 weeks <br />3.044e-6 months <br /> to once per 2 hours2.314815e-5 days <br />5.555556e-4 hours <br />3.306878e-6 weeks <br />7.61e-7 months <br />,is educed from 255 ft. above Mean Sea Level to 251 ft.
