UM-BRIEFING ON TRANSFORMATION AT THE NRC - BECOMING A MODERN, RISK-INFORMED REGULATOR, 10:00 A.M., TUESDAY, OCTOBER 29, 2019, COMMISSIONERS' CONFERENCE ROOM, ONE WHITE FLINT NORTH, ROCKVILLE, MARYLAND (OPEN TO PUBLIC ATTENDANCE)
The Commission was briefed by the NRC staff on the strategic aspects of transforming the NRC to better inform its decisions and prepare for the future.
The Commission looks forward to the staff's implementation of its Transformation dashboard and will conduct additional public Commission meetings on the staff's transformation efforts going forward.
The staff should provide information to the Commission on Transformation-related performance measures within 6 months of the date of this SRM and provide regular updates on the progress towards meeting those performance measures.
On an ongoing basis, the staff should keep the Commission informed of its transformation activities through quarterly Commissioner Assistant briefings.
The staff should continue to provide opportunities for public input and comment on its transformation activities and continue to seek the views of internal and external stakeholders in identifying opportunities to improve the agency's processes, procedures, and products.
The staff should provide a more detailed demonstration of the IT AAC dashboard during a quarterly briefing to the Commission staff.
