Reference 1 required licensees to identify and trace to the circuit breaker manufacturer (CBM),.all i

molded-case circuit breakers (MCCBs) stored for use in C

safety-related applications.

Union Electric provided the results of this review to the NRC as Reference 2.

Based on a preliminary review of responses to Bulletin 88-10, the MRO staff issued Referenco 3 which requested licensees to:

1.

Review written reports submitted to the NRC i

in accordance with Bulletin 88-10 and verify that the, responses meet the hulletin l

provisions as clarified by the bulletin supplement, and; 2.

Prepare and retain documentation for possible audit that indicates that the l

review has been performed as requested.

Union Electric has reviewed the Bulletin 88-10 response (Reference 2) against the clarifications a

contained in the bulletin supplement.

As a result the review of breaker traceability was expanded to include original spares purchased under the construction program which were received after August 1, 1983.

Callaway Plant as of September 1, 1989.was established to a Certificate of Conformance (C of C) to e.ither the CBM or a 10CFR50, Appendix B qualified supplier.

Surveillances were performed to estaolish traceability to the CBM in cases'where the C of C was tracecble to the qualified supplier.

Therefore, Union Electric has reviewed the j!

bulletin supplement and verified that the bulletin I

provisions as clarified by the supplement have been l

met as described in this letter =and in Reference 2.

maintained at Callaway Plant and is available for review by the NRC staff.
