Pressurizer Surge Line Thermal Stratification Gentlemen:
NRC Bulletin No. 88-11 (Reference (b)) requested licensees to perform inspections and analyses of the pressurizer surge line in view of the occurrence of thermal stratification. Maine Yankee responded to this issue with References (c) and (d).
' Action Id of Bulletin No. 88-11 requested. licensees to update their stress and fatigue analyses no later than two years after receipt of the bulletin (January 3, 1991 for Maina Yankee).
In Reference (d), wo optimistically responded that we would update our pressurir.er surge line structural analysis report by November 30, 1989. That update presumed that NRC would have-u completed their review of the CE Owners Group analysis. T:.ls review is not
. et complete, which necessitates revision to our schedule.

We will complete the update of the pressurizer surge line structural analysis report within the time frame allowed by NRC Bulletin No. 88-11 (January.3 1991).
