Letter from T. M. Anderson (Westinghouse) to J. R. Miller (NRC-Special Projects Branch) dated May 21, 1980 (NS-TMA-2248)

Sequoyah Nuclear Plant (SNP) employs Barton Lot 2 transmitters in safety-related systems.

Some of these transmitters exhibited unusual behavior during qualification testing.

The NRC staff has required an explanation of this anomaly. The NRC requirement was documented in section 7.2.2 of the SNP Safety Evaluation Report, supplement 1.

Westinghouse has responded to the NRC staff's questions in' referenced letter NS-TMA-2248.

This information is applicable to the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant.
