Submittal of Confidential and Proprietary Bechtel Information During the Nuclear Regulatory Commission Structural Audit of the Grand Gulf Nuclear Project, conducted March 17 through March 21, 1980, certain technical information was requested by NRC representatives to support the NRC review of the nuclear plant structural design. Attached are two copies of the requested

proprietary information which are submitted in confidence for the strictly confidential use of NRC personnel for official purposes.

Also attached is an affidavit, itself proprietary, requesting that these documents be withheld from public disclosure in accordance with 10 CFR Section 2.790.

We also request that the information not be disclosed to NRC contractors or consultants without the prior approval of Bechtel Power Corporation. In this regard, we wish to be promptly notified of the name of any third party, including NRC contractors or consultants and individuals within their organizations, requiring or requesting access to the information. Such notice will give us the opportunity to negotiate confidentiality agreements, or make other arrangements, with such parties as a condition of disclosure. -

If a request for disclosure of this information is received, please noti.fy myself at telephone number 301-258-4160 or Mr. A. Zaccaria, Project Engineer, at telephone number 301-258-3530. Bechtel Power Corporation reserves the right to withdraw the attached information if it is not determined to be proprietary and subject to withholding under 10 CFR 2.790.
