Grier, Director Office of Inspection & Enforcement Region I US Nuclear Regulatory Commission 631 Park Avenue King of Prussia, PA 19406

Dear Mr. Grier:

This letter is in response to IE Bulletin 79-OlB which you forwarded to us on January 14, 1980, concerning environmental qualification of Class lE equipment.

In our response of April 15, 1980, it was indicated that environmental profiles for loss of coolant accident (LOCA) and high energy line break (HELB) would be submitted by May 12, 1980 following final review.

Philadelphia Electric Company has reviewed the profiles prepared by Bechtel Power Corporation (BPC) and as a result of the review several questions were raised which have necessitated further refinement of the profiles.

The revisions are being made by BPC and are scheduled to be completed by May 21, 1980.

We expect to have the revised profiles reviewed and prepared for submittal with the next equipment qualification review progress report an June 17, 1980.

Very truly 3rurs, JL cc:
