I & E Bulletin 80-03

Dear Mr. Seyfrit:

The filter cells used in the reactor plant exhaust system at Fort St.

Vrain are as follows:

Farr Model NPP-1 Carbon Filter Part No. C-43060 L-6 Activated Carbon Type N/A C615 Pressure drop @ 333 scfm is 1.00 inches w.g.

Weight full lbs 85 1/2

% penetration

.01 The in-service cells were inspected by Mr. Fred Leckie of Nuclear Containment Systems Inc., who inspects to the requirements of Bulletin 80-03 during his semi-annual inspection, and found satisfactory.

The spares in stores were also examined by the Plant Maintenance Department and none of the defects noted.

These models (both in-service and spares) are not riveted but are tack-welded at 3/4" - 1" intervals.

No degradation that could cause channeling or bypassing was found to exist, nor was there deformation that could cause loss of charcoal.

Should you have further questions do not hesitate to call.

Sincerely, b' ~~{$h" Oscar R. Lee Vice President ORL/dkm 800604o0$
