QA Program implementation Instructions 1.

Purpose. To establish and maintain an auditable QA program for shipping packages Ior radioactive material associated with radioactive sources.

2.

Background. Reference (a) and (b) establish the requirements for CANOPUS to execute the subject QA program and state the required attributes of the program.

3.

Scope. This instruction applies to shipping packages for radioactive material associated with radioactive sources.

4.

P,rocedures. Enclosure (1) 3 hereby established as the basic QA program for CANOPUS for designing, purchasing, fabricating, handling, shipping, storing, clean-ing, assembling, inspecting, testing, operating, maintaining, repairing and modify-ing packages for use in shipping radioactive materials associated with radioactive Enclosure (2) contains more detailed instructions and responsibilities for sources.

Action. The Radiographic Safety Officer (RSO), under the supervision of the Repair Officer, shall irrpiement, execute and maintain this QA program as outlined -
