Dear D.r. Denton:
This morning I read with interest the Pottstown Mercury's report of the hearing in Bucks County yesterday on evaucation plans for the Limerick Nuclear Plant area.
I myself was unable to be at the hearing due to prior commitments, but I also have heard detailed reports from persons who were.
I am most interested in your statement that if the Philadelphia Electric Company were not already building its nuclear plant at Limerick you would make them look for a less populous site.
Certainly there are many people who would agree with you, including myself.
A good evacuation plan is essential, but in case of a serious accident it could not be carried out jn time; nor would it be practical to evacuate everyone in the danger area.
All this points up to the fact that Philadelphia Electric should not be granted an operating license.
It 1s the duty of the NRC to make the Company shift over to a less dangerous source.
Arguments have been made on both sides as to the expense, of shif ting to coal for example, j
but in any event human safety should come before economic.

Despite Mr. Boyer's claims there is no way that any safety system can be made totally f oolproof.
