Dear Mr. DeYoung:
SALEM GENERATING STATION UNIT NO. 1 DOCKET NO. 50-272 We have received your letter of March 20, 1980, enclosing inter alia, a Notice of Violation, Notice of Proposed Imposition of Civil Penalties and Order Modifying License Effective Immediately.
This letrer will constitute the response of Public Service Elec-tric and Gas Company
(" Licensee") to that letter.
Pursuant to 10CFR 2.201, Attachment A, hereto addresses the five items 1.i.sted in the last paragraph of Appendix A to your letter.
The information contained in Appendix A to the letter identifies security measures for the physical protection of Salem Generating Station, and should te withheld from public disclosure in accord-ance with the provisions of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Rules and Regulations, 10CFR 2.790(d).
Also enclosed is a check in rhe amount of S23,000 in payment of the civil penalties imposed.
Licensee will not protest the im-position of these civil penalties.
With regard to the Order Modifying License Effective Immediately, Licensee will not request a hearing.
