Dear Mr. Miller:
Confirming our telephone conversation of today, I acknowledge receipt of your letter of May 14, 1980, concerning physical protection requirements. Section 3 of the Enclosure states, "A security plan must be submitted to the NRC by May 18, 1980." This directive is in conflict with an earlier letter (Jan. 7,1980) from Mr. Robert W. Reid requiring the submittal of physical protection plans by Aug. 22, 1980.
We are currently working on our plan and will submit it after it has been approved by our Reactor Safety Committee and Radiation Safety Committee. It is obviously impossible to meet your May 18 deadline and we request that we be permitted to comply with the original sub-mittal date of Aug. 22, 1980.
Sincerely yours, l
