Dear Mr. Denton:

Reference (a) describes the information the NRC Staff requires Commonwealth Edison to provide relating to the auxiliary feedwater systems at its Byron and Braidwood Stations.

These requirements were identified during the course of the NRC Bulletins and Orders Task Force Review of nuclear steam supply systems designed by Westinghouse and Combustion Engineering in light of the Three Mile Island Unit 2 accident.

For your information, Commonwealth Edison Company tentatively plans to submit during the First Quarter of 1981 an amendment to the Byron and Braidwood FSAR containing the information requested in Reference (a).

One (1) signed original and fifty-nine (59) copies of this letter are provided for your use.

Very truly yours, z(.Yifcc5n-C,2 D.
