Dear Sir:
This letter confirms our telex of this date, informing you of Kevex Corporation's intent, under provision of part 71.12, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, to ship radioactive material under a general license.
The package, produced by Nuclear packaging Incorporated, of Tacoma, Washington, is identified as their model N-55 and by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Package Identification Number USA /9070/B.
Certificate of Compliance.. umber 9070 authorizes use under general license provisions of 10 CFR 71.12 (b).
The package will be used with a LUr specification 17H steel drum, as required by the Certificate of Compliance, to ship Kevex model 0510 ALPILkX detector assemblics which incorporate an Isotope Product Laboratories model XANK-244-Nr curium-244, 3 millicurie scaled source. This source has been registered with the state of California.
