Gentlemen:

Pursuant to tir. Victor Stello's letter of January 25, 1978, Arkansas Power & Light Company has formulated and actively pursued a work plan to evaluate the effects of postulated reactor coolant pipe breaks in-side the reactor vessel cavity.

During the past two (2) years, we have communicated with members of the NRC staff via meetings and phone calls and consistent with your request herein submit through reference to Mr. J. H. Taylor's (B&W) letter of February 14, 1980, BAW-1597, " Effects of Asymmetric LOCA Loadings - Phase II Status".

We have determined this interim report to be applicable to Arkansas Nuclear One - Unit 1.

The final report will be submitted no later than July 1, 1980.
