Dear Mr. O'Reilly:

SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR PLANT UNIT 1 - NRC-01E REGION II LETTER RII:HCD 50-327 - CONFIRMATION OF ACTION OF IE BULLETIN 79-14 f

In reference to your letter to H. G. Parris dated April 29, 1980, we request that action item number 3 be revised as follows in accordance with our telephone discussion with H. C. Dance of your staff today.

Select at least one isometric drawing from each of eight safety-related systems inside cortainment and verify proper installation of pipe supports. Select at least one isometric drawing from each of eight safety-relt.ted systems outside containment and verify that all the requirements of IE Bulletin 79-14 are met.

These eight systems shall include the Residual Heat Removal (RHR),

Auxiliary Feedwater (AFW), Safety Injection (SI), and Upper Head Injection (UHI) Systems.

The reason for this request is to facilitate establishment of the necessary bench marks in elevation and column line grids to verify piping configuration. This can be done more readily outside than inside containment where protective coatings and confined spaces make establishing the required bench marks difficult.

If you have any questions concerning this matter, please get in touch with D. L. Lambert at FTS 854-2581.

Very truly yours, TENNESSEE VALLEY AUTHORITY W n _..
